As part of the Annual Work Plan 2014, CFGORRP/DHM organized a residential training in “Integrating Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) into Disaster Risk Management Project Planning Cycle” from April 23, 2014 to April 27, 2014 at Dhulikhel, Kavre with institutional participation from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) and the three collaborating departments – Department of Soil Conservation and Watershed Management (DSCWM), Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention (DWIDP), Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) and the Project Management Unit of CFGORRP. The training was inaugurated by Dr. Rishi Ram Sharma, Director General and National Project Director, CFGORRP and was participated by a total of 18 participants. The resource person for the training was Ms. Dibya Devi Gurung, from Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture & Natural Resource Management (WOCAN).

The main objective of the training was to enhance capacity and knowledge of the participants and sensitize on Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) issues and prioritize GSI plan in their concerned areas of work.

The training was able to successfully impart the significance of integrating GSI in the project management cycle of Disaster Risk related undertakings. The resource person was able to promuglate the importance of zooming GSI perspectives in Disaster Risk Management.
